Re: 8.0 Beta 4: Temporarily paused while writing downloaded data to storage device

In my experience, V7 has never reacted this way to fast DL speeds. IMHO, V8 still has some significant bugs that need to be fixed. I still maintain that there is no further development happening on V8. It is dead.

Re: SuperSearch down? Was working earlier today

It is down. Given that Scuba et al don't communicate with us, who knows why and for how long it will be down.

Re: How Do we know the SuperSearch is Working

Frustrating. From a hardware perspective, there is no excuse for the service going down unless it is network connectivity. For software, the service can also be operated in a cluster, if it has been properly architected.

Re: Has the V8 beta died?

I agree that NL7 is fine, and I still use it. I'm not in a rush, but it's about communication, commitment and follow-through. The minute that these guys started to receive our hard-earned money, they changed from being amateurs to professionals. My expectation of a professional is very different fro...

Has the V8 beta died?

The most recent beta (as posted on this site) came out before Christmas. Please feel free to check the date. Here we are now enjoying summer temperatures. I would suggest that it is reasonable to assume that there will be no further versions of that beta being released, and that further work on it h...

Agreed. This is often caused by either corrupt queue, or a corrupted item in the queue.

Re: 8.0 Beta 4: Cannot disable spam detection

I'd say there is no chance that the issue you refer to will be fixed, and certainly no likelihood that we'll see any progress on 8.0. Sadly, we've all been here before.

Re: Newsleecher 8b4 not downloading

I think we've entered another one of those temporal rifts where we don't see anything from Spiril et al for months. Seriously - what is going on?

Re: Filter within retrieved list

Same here. It is looking more and more as though capabilities, functions and options that we've used in V7 have been removed or made more difficult to use. With respect, how is that improving on a software product? Unless very major changes are made to V8 before it gets to GA, I can't imagine that I...

This also happens with my instance of the NL Beta. I have no question about the performance and stability of my Win 10 system. It's obviously an NL bug. This was reported a loooong time ago. Are we concerned that it's still evident?

Spiril - will this next beta be less prone to freezing, as many of us have reported?

Re: Newsleecher Development Beta 3 or 4

I recall discussion in this forum some time ago about moving NL to 64-bit architecture, and remember that the developers were not in favor. If NL is still 32-bit, I wonder if that is proving now to be an issue.

Re: What if i told You What Is Going Down .. ?

This board has been very quiet since the second beta was released, and bugs became apparent. We also shouldn't forget how very long it took for us to even get to a V8 beta. I wouldn't be surprised if the "store" is finally being closed for good.

Re: 8.0 beta 1 queue not downloading

No good for me, still have to revert to 7 final to get to work. But keep coming up with any ideas Same here. I spent about an hour with the 8.0 beta, recognized its several shortcomings, and reverted back to V7 GA. I do find it somewhat concerning that there have been no comments from Spiril or Scu...
