Re: Unpack subfolder unsupported chars
When unpacking into subfolders it the posting has special chars like quote " it will fail to create the folder. These need to be filtered out like the older version 7 did. It get around the bug you have to un-check the subfolder option. Yeah, but if you uncheck, with Auto Import the extraction does...

Re: Newsleecher Replacement?
I have grown to dislike Newsleecher because of its new(ish) licensing scheme. The fact it calls home to verify your license every single time you launch it. Sometimes this would take minutes or longer or not at all. I know there is a post on their site that says I can upgrade the old way because I ...

Re: 8.0 Beta 1: *REALLY* miss the results filter tool!
Went back to NL7, besides missing the result filter box, which is a very essential feature to me, I do not like the UI at all. It's non intuitive. For decades my eyes are trained to recognize buttons in an instant. Lots of users will like the clean look, I definitely don't. I like to see Tabs, butto...

[7.0B12] Folders in Download Destination not cleaned up
After succesfull extraction in the Default R&E Destination Folder , The Default Download Destination Folder is not cleaned up properly. The files in the subfolder are removed, but the folder itself still remains. In the following example: NL Default Destination Folders.JPG After extraction in "\\DS1...

Re: Selective Repair/Rebuild
This happens to me a lot: I download a several-gigabyte set only to find the only file missing or broken is a stupid .nfo file or something else I don't want or need. Of course, if I have a large queue, this only slows down the entire process as I have to wait for a lengthy repair process just to r...

Re: Manager tab: Bring back columns for Bots and Priority
+10! I also miss the priority column (and, if possible, # of bots, server adress and port) in the Manager tab. Another suggestion would be the possibility to sort the servers (by name, priority, etc) Furthermore, why is there still a check box for the advanced settings in the Usenet Server setup? A...

Tag <NZB Name> in the Destination Manager
My default download directory is a total mess since NL Version 7. I prefer to work with nzb files (using the Auto Import Scanner). In previous versions of Newsleecher, the destination folder had the same name of the nzb file name. Now, I could use the <Par name> tag, but the problem is that nowadays...

Re: download directory for each nzb file?
*bump* Just like capntripz, I create nzb files (i.e. sometimes with Spotnet/Spotweb). Until Newsleecher 6.5 beta 6, NZB auto import did the rest for me (create a folder in the default download folder, the name of the folder was the same as the nzb file name). The problem is that the file name of the...

Incompletes don't finish, some items remain queued
Some items stay queued between 60-99% but don't continue downloading. When I close NL these articles are reset and remain queued. These files do not appear as incomplete in the download folder, so repair is not possible. However, if I export the SS article results to a NZB and open it in another new...

SuperSearch misses postings
Not all postings are indexed correctly by SS. I.E. SS-ing for "Galbraak" gives only one result. When using other web based search engines there are far more results. Also, SS marks some postings as incomplete, while the postings are perfect. (using SuperNews and Astraweb as Usenet Provider) I do hop...

SS reports incompletes while postings are correct
The post "m3yrZnbT8mehmZvfDc" (90 days old, posted in a.b.boneless and a.b.games) is reported by SS as incomplete. Same for "icon-pafatsd" posted in a.b.games.wii. However, with other, webbased search engines there is no problem at all. Both postings were posted on sept 20th 2011, so maybe it is tim...
