Most Internet Service Providers (ISP's) have a usenet news server for their customers. However, if the ISP is running their own servers, they often have very poor retention (1-4 days) and completion rates (< 95%).

If you are serious about using usenet, we recommend subscribing to a premium news service provider. Because all news service providers are different, we recommend you research and select one that best fits your personal usenet needs.

For premium news servers, we recommend Newshosting and Giganews. Here are a couple of Usenet review sites if you want to research others:
