Fix the real issues.
- Incompletes with no error reported in log.
- No error reported when disk space empty.
- CRC checking.
Just fix the problems related to downloading files, man, who cares about virtual groups etc if the bloody thing won't download files reliably?
I'm still using NZB-O-Matic, much more reliable than Newsleecher. |

It is a Beta, and it works perfectly for me also. Beta 3 (i think) was to get the registy bug fixed. I'm glad Spiril releases updates the way he does instead of us having to wait months for bugs he could fix sooner |

This is something I'm waiting for now almost a year. I'm still using XNews for downloading MP3 files without a PAR2 or SFV check file, because Newsleecher corrupts too many MP3 files. |

Yes, but I'm disappointed that he is wasting time on new features when the damn thing doesn't download files reliably. I just used the latest beta to download 20 files and 18 were bad, that's a pretty terrible success rate. I'm back to using NZB-O-Matic. |

I do not have problems with file corruption and I download a lot of info almost daily. I would be taking a look at my PC or my Internet link if 18 out of 20 were bad. If it was a program problem, we all would have it and be screaming. You hear anything..?? I don't

| Same here, no problems at all DLing and I download a good 10G/day. NL even tells you which files are incomplete. Plus there are par files for this very reason. Sometimes the newsgroup server will say a certain file is 50,000,000 but ends up being 47,894,000 and that isn't NLs fault. This usually occurs when your newshosting provider's retention is close to the age of the file and starts dropping off parts. I'd complain to my hosting provider, not the client application. |

I believe this is a valid complaint, just not a problem for all of us. I don't have any problems either. _________________ Grtz RD

Tha fact that you are not having problems when others are, means little, if anything.
We all vary slightly, if not dramatically what we download. Therefore different users are going to have a different experience than others.
The point is to call out what doesn't work. This is how problems get identified.
Also bashing Spiril or Newsleecher has little, again if any, impact.
What should count is clear descriptive posts of , as exactly as possible, what happens when NL fails.
And a plea here or there requesting attention to crippling problems should be considered reasonable. |

I've been posting in the sticky on incomplete downloads for months. This has been a problem since I first bought Newsleecher over a year ago, I'm not the only one, check the sticky.
My net connection is fine, I have ZERO problems when using NZB-O-Matic for downloading, if a file is incomplete it tells me and if it is corrupt then it reports a CRC error. Newsleecher will report if files are incomplete on the server, the problem is it corrupts files while decoding even though it has downloaded all parts. This usually occurs if the system is under load during the decoding process. |

How about quoting the person you are replying to so we will know who you are addressing? |

I have downloaded the last 3 betas and found them to be utter crap.
If they arent tested adequately in house before being released to the public, then dont waste my time. And I say this, fully knowing they ARE beta. The problem is a new beta ever 2 days? Thats ridiculous. If there is a project driving those releases, it is poor project management. If it is new bugs popping up in the latest beta, it is poor coding breaking a previous feature.
I will wait for the new features to be release in production before trying ANY more betas, regardless of what nifty bell & whistle they claim to provide. What good are features like odometers when I cant even connect anymore? Since the betas, I am seeing very poor connections and an increased amount of disconnects.
Reliability, not pretty graphs, NewsLeecher!~!! |

I see no problems with disconnects / poor connections. All of the latest BETA's have been rock solid for me.
BTW, I like seeing frequent product releases (even if they are BETA). If you aren't comfortable with BETA releases, please revert back to the 2.X series. |

Why don't you post a bug report or a piece of you NewsLeecher log so we can track down the problem and make NewsLeecher work for you again?
