Spiril -
v3b1 (still) creates corrupt nzb files from the Active Group window (the segment details of the m-p binaries are not included in the file.)
Nzb files created from Super Search results work fine.

| Holy crap this guy is right. All the nzbs I make from newsleecher is coming out tiny in size and missing all the details in the file. Wonder why no one else confirms. Is everyone just using super search? I don't not use super search. Hope a new beta with this fixed surfaces very soon. As nzb is an essential feature for queing up large amounts of stuff via the auto import folder. How can I go back to 2.3 or will 2.3 be all messed up if I try and roll back. |

It's no problem, I'd say, to just install it right over 3.0 _________________ Grtz RD

| ditto same problem. I hope a fix comes soon. I don't use SS either and queue up large lists of files in this manner. |

| Does queueing the files and then creating an nzb in the download queue tab work? |

Thanks for bringing this up dwazegek.
Yes, nzb creation works fine from the Queue. There is only a problem when creating nzb files from the Active Group window.

Imagine the horror of having to use SuperSearch.
But as is suggested you could queue the items (leech paused) and create the NZB in the downloadqueue. I realise this is just a workaround. _________________ Grtz RD

This workaround does work but it is so inconvenient and unbelievably awkward. I go to the active group tab find the stuff I want to make nzbs out of and have to put it in the que as leech as paused. Then I go to the download que find it among all the other stuff in there and manually select all the parts with shift and then export to nzb from the download que. Then I have to delete the items from the download que. Then later on throw my nzb into the autoimport folder. There is no smart select within the download que tab so selecting is more difficult. I don't mean to harp about it since 3.0 beta is so new but this is a tremendous oversight.
I can't believe something so obvious was missed among the alpha testers and spotted on the first like couple minutes of beta testing. Maybe alpha testing should be opened up to more than just the current few.
Warning Conspiracy theory
I might as well go so far as to say this was intentionally done. To deal a big F U to the people who don't subscribe to super searcher

Yes, the workaround will work fine until the bug is fixed. I'm guessing that this bug won't be around for very long (just my opinion).

It's pretty poor, but I've come to expect that from Newsleecher. It's taken until version 3 for them to attempt to fix the incomplete file problem that's been present since version 1. It looks like the incomplete problem may finally be getting fixed, but I still don't trust it, so when I'm downloading files without pars I like to export to nzb and download with nzb-o-matic, bloody annoying that it's broken in version 3. When's the next release coming? We need it to leave failed downloads in the queue too. |

Actually it was reported during the alpha testing but wasn't fixed before the beta 1 release. I'm sure it will be fixed soon. |

Wow beta 2 is out and nzb file creation appears fixed. That was so quick. Thanks for fixing. Even the group navigation shortcut keys were added for all the people that were wanting it. Even an option to simulate single active group mode is introduced so you can simulate browsing one group at a time with a hotkey like v2.3. All I can say is you really listened to the customers wishes and fixed the most pressing issues. Great job I take back my early conspiracy theory. Users get frustrated cause they come to expect perfection. It's tough since we are using the beta releases and expecting perfection also |

Hi!
Im new at this so please dont shoot me if it is a feature and not a bug
Version:Beta 3.0 b2
Operating System: Windows XP SP2
Installation Method: Update from b1
Type of Installation: Beta
Number of Servers: 1
List your provider(s)? giganews.com
Connections per server: 6
Server priority: 1
Description:
Still having partial problems with nzbs created in active group. Now only sfv nfo and m3u files seems to be affected. In the log it looks exactly like in b1 for those files.
2005-08-11 09:06:05 * Server response: "430 no such article". Part Msg ID: "¿".
But if i download them manually instead of using the nzb no problem.

It looks like the Msg ID is not being record properly for those files?
