is there a way to leave out all the porn groups when searching?

a.b.m.erotica and others

perhaps porn could have it's own category and a toggle not to display as a choice

Nope, there isn't a way to do that, but I like the idea. A filter to eliminate postings from known porn groups would be handy. A simple checkbox would be sufficient I believe. You should start a new post in the Wish List forum with a poll and see if others are also interested.
