Include file extension when categorizing SSearch

This post was originally in "My supersearch doesnt work!" which is locked, so it will be continued here.

On another note unrelated to this, i often find images/audio in other and likewise... Im presuming the content is based on the newsgroup.. Can this be alterd to take file extension into account too?
I believe the content is going back to being based upon newsgroup. Using the file extention in the subject line has recently caused many problems. Maybe the change back to group based categories is currently underway, which could account for the current SSearch problem.
