Serious erro after installingnl b12: nfts file system error

I encountered a very serious error after i installed the beta 12 (first install of nl). It corrupte my ntfs files sytem. My files system got corrupted and the system c: volume no longer allowed direct write access, wich means i could not even pick up my email as Norton Internet Security's Norton Antvirus popped-up and blocked it all.

I had to use Windows xp's system recovery tool and MS labeled it as a very serious system error.

So, what am i to do, if i want to prevent this from happening again if i install nl 12? And what exactly went wrong?

Do a scan for disk errors and defragg.
Do a FULL virus scan.
Download NewsLeecher again.
Close down any running apps.
Disable Norton and its associated baggage.
Install NewsLeecher again.

Oh and keep your fingers crossed, and your eyes shut, whilst offering up a small prayer to the M$ gods

More than likely a problem like this is not the fault what ever you are doing but rather of your harddrive or the usage you have put it though. It just so happens that at the instant you install the software the problem hits.

Defragging is probably a good idea and turn off all those utilities. They can be helpfull but most of the time they just get in the way. After all they are just software and don't have a brain of there own

But, sorry i will not do without the Norton firewall or the virus scanner.
