| If I don't check "Show old" then they should be new. I really don't like the giant red NEW image on every new post. Please tell me there is a way to turn off this new "feature" |

In the Settings>Advanced Tweaks section, set the "Article New Old Star Mode" to False. (The new article icon used to be a star but was changed to the New icon).

That setting doesn't exist (anymore) ? Might explain why those new-images returned. Can we get the setting back please??
Speaking of useless extra items, what' the icon in front of the groupnames on beta12 good for? |

what version are you using? It exists in my 5.0b11 version.
and I just installed 5.0b12 and it is called "Article New Tag" in case you have updated.

It shows the activity status of that group. For example, when it is downloading the groups headers, it will show small green arrows.
If you don't like the icons, right click on a group and choose the "View Settings>Show Icons" entry to disable that option.
