|
|
Is there a way (aside from the one option I found that will name it after the newsgroup name) to customize the download folder names.
For instance if downloading a TV show called "Hawaii 5-0" or something it will name it like "a.b.tv.shows" instead of what grabit does naming it after the listings name "Hawaii 5-0"
Are there any customization options for this? I can't find any. |

There are 2 settings you probably want to change. The first is in "Repair/Extract" where you want to select "Extract to Separate Subfolder". This will extract everything and place the nfo's in a folder with the same name as the archive.
The second setting is under the "Download" settings tab called "Save to Groupname Subfolder". This setting is what saves your files to a.b.tv.shows. Personally, I like this feature and have both of them checked as it helps to keep everything organized well.
I hope this solves your issues. |

It also depends on how the files were added to the queue.
If queuing from downloaded headers or SuperSearch results, you can use the Leech Smart or Leech Specify options. This will create a subdirectory based on the subject, with Specify giving you the option to change it first.
If queuing from NZB files, you can enable the "Save to NZB Subfolder" and "Pretty Up Subfolder Name" checkboxes in the Settings>NZB Files screen. This will create a subfolder based on the NZB name.
The "Save to groupname subfolder" option will work in conjunction with the above options.
However, due to a limitation of Repair and Extract, some of these options will not carry over if you select the "Extract to separate subfolder" option but it will create it based on the root filename of the archive. _________________

Thanks those options sound helpful.
last night I got all confused because one item was in several folders. Since my NZB file contained files from different newsgroups I ended up with like 5 newsgroup folders thus my files were all split up.
I tried setting it to extract but it didn't start on it's own. How do I make the program extract on its own ?
Im used to grabit where one NZB went in its own folder and then it auto repaired and extracted.
This program has tons more to offer and more options..just harder (for me) to set up |

In the Repair and Extract tab, enable the 4 checkboxes at the top.
However, it will only be looking in the directory where the par2 file is so if the NZB was created with files in different groups, and you have the option to save the files in group subdirectories as you have mentioned, then RnE won't be able to locate all the files and will fail to extract. _________________

Ah that explains it. So I should disable the option to save to subdirectories with group names..and then just have the extract/repair do so in folder names..
So my downloads will all be in the same folder at first but once complete they will extract/repair into their own folder and delete the original files.
That works out well.
Will try it when i get home, thanks! |
