|
|
When I try to download any of the EDITED BY MODERATOR choices that come up from supersearch, every single time the files will not download. Also, the que list starts to erase itself file by file. In addition, the newsleecher program itself seems to "blink" if you hover over the tabs at the top.
i was nervous when i first noticed this but when I try other types of files, the newsleecher is working fine and downloading.
How weird is it that 8 to 10 different named search requests all behave the same? Is someone just reposting the same bad file without testing and renaming them? |

Please do not post details about the pirated or illegally acquired software you are downloading. This is against the Forum Policy. Please read the policy before posting again or you will be banned from the forums.
As for your problem, check the log when downloading. This will give a better idea of what is going on.
It is very possible that someone has posted small files, usually viruses, with the exact same subject/filename as the original file. You need to be very careful of what you are downloading. _________________

It should only be removing the files in the queue as it is attempting to download them. So are you saying that you are not connected to the news server but it is still removing the files by itself? If so, that is a first.
Perhaps that, and the blinking problem, is due to a corrupted configuration file, most likely the main setup.dat file.
You will need to locate and remove the setup.dat file. When you start NewsLeecher again, it will reset to default settings. You can find the location and explanation of each configuration file at http://www.newsleecher.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6766
If you are using 3.95 beta 1 or later, the setup.dat files are backed up automatically so you can use a previous version. They are stored in the %APPDATA%\NewsLeecher\backups\ directory. Replace your corrupted setup.dat with one of these backups, renaming it properly of course.
If that doesn't resolve the problem, try moving all of the .dat files out of the configuration data directory and run NL again. If there error goes away then it was one of those files. You could move a few of the files back in until you find the corrupt file.
Uninstalling and reinstalling will not remove the configuration files. _________________
