I've had a few problems with NewsLeecher today ... all seem to have the same type of error.
I had added quite a few (I think it was 400 or so) files to my download queue and let them download, then I come to look at my computer again and Newsleecher had stopped responding with the bug message showing. I tried a few times to click the buttons on it, but nothing happened. I ended the process of NL (which was taking up about 95% CPU time according to XP)
Looking in my downloads, there were about 15 incomplete files (38mb instead of 50mb) and on re-loading newsleecher the incomplete files were still queued. I had to re-download the group headers again as they didnt save because i ended the process rather than exiting. Once that was done I resumed downloading the files and about 30-45 mins later the same thing happened.
I ended the process of NL and reloaded it, this time starting to download the files and almost straight away I got a repeat errror. This time I was able to copy the message, as NL wasnt taking 95% CPU time As soon as I clicked the button to close the error, another similar one came up. Here's the two error logs:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug Data1:
2134as(2): "00005" - "C:\Program Files\NewsLeecher\data\temp\{parts}\403809243\raw\" - FE: True
Bug Data2:
Invalid filename
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug Data1:
2134as(2): "00002" - "C:\Program Files\NewsLeecher\data\temp\{parts}\403809243\raw\" - FE: True
Bug Data2:
Invalid filename
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After this, I went to C:\Program Files....\{parts} and deleted the contents of it.
I'm currently still re-downloading the group's headers and downloading a few of the files at a time, but all seems well for now.
I suppose the problems will come after I re-queue the X hundred files and go to bed tonight |

just a quick addition....
when newsleecher decided to clear up the cache garbage, it took ages for it to find it and clean it - a lot longer than usual
and up to now, i havent had the error again since i cleared the cache... |
