The SS page used to be able to show the newsgroup where the files that you have searched for are located and you could 'sort' the SS list - like you can sort the article list by clicking on the top of that page. Unlike the article list the SS one also does not allow you to right click to decide which columns to display.
I assume it is because the 'subject' bar is missing from the SS page...?
I installed the 3.9 final and both of the above features, which I use, are now back and working. |

Right then, good enough reason not to bother install 3.91!!!
jeesh realy are hanging onto the 3.9x series aren't they .. just how long is it going to be before we get 4.0 and any real useful features? or cleanup of some ui layouts..
like the PAUSE button in the tray still being buried within another menu!.. sort it out every other downloading program,p2p etc has managed to to adequetly stick in a pause/resume on the FIRST menu of the tray!
how hard could it be |

I would have hoped ALL problems in 3.9 had been 100% solved BEFORE the final was released. My understanding is the final was first tagged as another beta, but then renamed as 3.9 final. Now it's completely obvious that was a mistake.
Maybe they will just fix 3.9 now and not change the game plan with different features before it's ready for prime time. _________________ Larc |

Posting NEW message and posting REPLY both are missing a send button. How to send a post now? Huh? |

3.91 is pretty miserable.
the ultimate dealbreaker for me is not being able to sort supersearch results
what the hell happened here guys?
you've introduced TONS of bugs and annoyances but no new features, how do you manage to do that? did some of the code get corrupted or something? |

I can sort SS results just fine. Perhaps your configuration file for the SS page view is corrupted. The Configuration file FAQ says that the file in question would be lvSSearch.dat. Try quitting NewsLeecher then removing that file. When you restart NewsLeecher, the SS views will be reset to defaults. _________________ Please be aware of and use the following pages...

Have gone back to 3.9 I can compare, the entire 'bar'/row with the send/options buttons is missing from the New/Reply Post window. No idea how that could happen but I'd like it back please |

Excellent advice...!!!
And spot on as well. I installed the latest beta and deleted the file that you noted and it worked...!!
Then I closed NL down and restarted it a little while later to find that it will now never start...
Bug Data1:
nnjjaja
Bug Data2:
List index out of bounds (3)
the above image is a little dimmed due to it not responding.
So I did have the latest beta working but with a b0rked SS. I went back to the last final and it worked ok. I then installed the latest beta and deleted that file and it worked once. Now it will not work at all and installing the latest final over the top of that mess is something that I shudder to do...!!! |

Why? Currently it's not working anyway I just installed 3.9 over 3.9.1 to fix another problem and it works fine now. No data was changed between those two version so no problems. |

Agree It's just sometimes when you feel as though you are on the edge of a slump and the only way is down then doing something that could hasten that descent is not to be encouraged
Anyway I plucked up courage and did just that and all is well now with 3.9 final purring along... |

Isn't that just exchanging one set of problems for another? I'm still on 3.9 final and having troubles with R'n'R unRARing only part of a downloaded fileset and then deleting extracted files and sending the rest to the Recycle Bin. Things are generally still salvageable, but a super PITA all the same.
I'm starting to suspect the NL monster may have outgrown its creator. _________________ Larc |

I never had a problem such as you describe. My problem started with 3.9.1 (missing buttons in my post-window) so I rolled back to a version which works for me |

I cannot change the columms in the SS window. I'm using 3.91 B1, see the picture for more details about my issue
