I am experiencing a similar problem to what is described in the original post for this thread.
My ISP server was setup as the highest priority server (even though its completion is rubbish ~30%...), with astraweb as my second priority server (and header updates). While all parts would show as complete when doing a header update with astraweb, downloads would normally come in with missing parts for around 5%-40% of files downloaded. Fine if pars are available, but when they're not it's useless.
I've just disabled my ISP server, and haven't yet had an incomplete file! Looks like it'll have to stay disabled for now.
I like the program, but I wish I'd found this problem before I payed for it... That said, it's still beta and hopefully the bugs will be ironed out soon.

Strange! I can't reproduce that bug either (yet). All articles come down perfectly at my end.
If you do the same thing as Eraserhead, and look at the property dialog for the last article in the queue, does it then look like the last part of the article is corrupt?
Btw, are you doing the server search using the UNS server only? If not, pls try that and see if that makes a difference.

Spiril - I have had this happen twice on B20. In both instances only one part would not download and remained in my queue. When I viewed the properties of the afflicted files one of the parts had not been downloaded. The missing part seemed to be completely random (8th and 104th). Neither were the final part of the file. Unfortunately, the log file doesn't tell us individual details on each part.
I will keep a closer watch on my downloads. (Haven't had less than 200 files queue since B19.  ) |

I've been testing with B20 and since yesterday B21 there are still some incompletes when doing serversearch and downloading from retreived headers the old way and yes the error is in the msg ID renaming the last segment end to ó the same as Eraserhead mentioned, when I deselect that file and select it again then this error disappears and shows normal as how it should be.

Maybe NL should perform a compare the on each segment to make sure the domain info matches and if it doesn't download the segment...

Ok. I came home and found the incomplete file issue in my queue. Unfortunately, I'm still running B20 (21 and 22 were released after I went to work) but I thought I'd post my findings anyway. Here's the screen shot.
This is where I think the problem occurred (based on previous experience). Is it possible that a loss of connectivity could cause the problem?
I also discovered another bug (as evidenced from the screenshot) where text can't be seen if you have your backgrounds set to black (remember this bug Spiril?).

Ok. So I manually selected all the files in my queue except the buggy one, paused them(clicked the small pause button), saved the queue, and upgraded NL to B22 (from B20). I then started up NL, and the "afflicted" file began to download (it was at the top of the queue.) The file still did not download. The properties of the download are identical to my previous screenshot, the last part of the file is corrupted.
Unfortunately, the log isn't helpful but here it is anyway.

I'm going to leave the file as is in my queue in case anyone can think of another way to troubleshoot this issue or perhaps get more info from NL regarding the bug itself.
EDIT: I just noticed that the file is no longer in my queue. It was when I posted this info. So NL has the ability to save the file as incomplete now... Interesting. |

Since B22(a bit in b20),most of my files are incomplete.afther downloading.
i have 3 servers,i don't use nzb files.
i go backe to older nl for now.

same issue here.
latest NL running on RoadRunner as 01 and Easynews as 02
All files will be complete on the servers but once pulled down will be incomplete.
Seems to happen more with larger files (50Mb) versus smaller (15Mb). Not 100% verified, but I dont recall any issues at all actually with 15Mb files.
This is killing me right now as Im chewing credits I shouldnt have to with my pay server(s). This is show stopper bug in my eyes |

Your issue is different homerboy. Roadrunner is not compatible with NL versions B10 and up. Spiril changed the header retrieval system in NL from Article IDs to Message IDs starting with B10. It was discovered that Roadrunner was one of several providers that do not support Message ID
headers. A complete list of providers that are incompatible with NL can be found here. |
