Im having no issues at all running Newsleecher 4.0 beta 7 under wine 1.01-0ubuntu6 in Linux Mint 7, but I have an issue with download speed.

I have a 6mbps connection, and under Windows 7 and Xp, I get an average of 610KB/s, but in Linux Mint it's not more than 132KB/s, is there any concurrent connections config I have to edit or something like that?, like the issue with Internet Explorer under Windows.

Im really happy with my Linux box right now, but with this download speeds (it's 5 times slower!) its not usable for me Sad

Thanks for the help!

If you have a fairly old computer, you won't get the speeds with NL in Wine as you would when you run it from Windows. Minimize NL to tray to get a much better speed, because the CPU won't be used to display and update the GUI all the time.

Does anyone here see an issue where if you minimize the program, and bring it back up- the minimize button is now gone. And if you minimize it again by clicking the program tray itself, on restore of the window it iconify's into a small 3 cm square.

The environment I've seen this on is KDE3.5. I haven't seen mention of it, but it's been persistent for the last 3 revision of my OS(SuSe 10.3-11.1). I suppose I'm trying to verify if anyone is getting this in other desktop environments- or if they also see it in kde. Thanks.

I see about the same on Xfce. I minimize it, goes fine, restore it and it's a small square. I have to minimize it again and after a restore, I get two task list items. Sending NL to tray then restore it from tray fixes that. I haven't checked if the minimize button is gone though.

I also have this issue. I'm using KDE 4.3 on Kubuntu 9.04. I am using the latest version of wine. It doens't happen every single time, but the majority of times I minimize the newsleecher window, it opens up as a little box, and I can no longer access the program. The program is still working, so things keep downloading in the background, but I can't access the gui anymore.

As of now my solution has been to kill newsleecher and start again, but I'll try Sasquatch's trick of sending it to tray to see if that works.

This has been happening for a while, but I'm not sure what's causing it. A fix for this would be nice.
