Confirmed. I'll add this to the known bugs list.

Probably not a good idea to hide the serial key in the Temporary Internet files folder |

Hello long time since I've been back on this forum. Still a user...
I would like to know if this clearing of browser history and cookies affects 3.8 Final that was just released. I have IE 7 and I have a habit of clearing the history alot.
I am currently 3.8 beta 6 no issues. I would not like to upgrade if this will be a problem. Have not seen anyone mention if this was fixed...
Thanks. |

This is still an outstanding issue. Clearing your browser cache in IE7 will remove your license key. We have a support request in with the developer of the license key wrapper program to get this resolved ASAP. We have no ETA on when this issue will be fixed. In the meantime, I suggest not clearing your browser cache, use Firefox, or stick with an older version that does not have this issue. (Or keep your key handy if you do clear your browser cache frequently) Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the speedy response techfuzz. So based on the options you mentioned and my user preferences I guess I will have to stay put at 3.8 beta 6. It is stable... low cpu etc, the main reason I wanted to upgrade is to avoid the cache prompt that was made optional in beta 7. In beta 6 everytime I delete old headers in my vgroups and then go to close down NL it gives me the prompt about cleanup.
3.8 Beta 7 - Released 20 Dec 2006
+: The 'perform cache cleanup' prompt can now be turned off from
the options dialog:
"Options -> Downloads -> Groups Cache -> Ask before ...".
Unfortuanately beta 7 is when many things changed including this browser cache thing. Do you happen to know if there is a NL config file I can "mess" with to turn off the prompt in my beta 6 maybe?
PS
Flipje interesting find... however I use english microsoft products. |

| Using 3.8 final, I'm not having any problems with licensing after deleting my IE7 temporary internet files. Maybe the problem is with deleting cookies? It's not clear which cache, but the U.S. version of IE7 is working here with NL. |
