On the tab it says "Supersearch [Initializing]"
Below that it says "newleecher super search - [loading super search setup data from newsleecher.com]"
Any ideas anyone? I believe somewhere I read that the newspage needs to work for supersearch to work, but the newspage remains empty too.
From a logfile I was able to retreive the URL the newspage is trying to load and when I paste that into my regular browser I get a page not found.
Last but not least, I tried to convert the license, but it says it is already converted. I am running the latest 2.1 beta, the story was the same with RC4.
Thanks for any help.

| Just did a complete reinstall (uninstall and deleted old dir manually), didn't help the supersearch or newspage. |

If you can't load the newspage, super search won't work. There is something blocking the traffic to www.newsleecher.com for NewsLeecher.
Do you have a firewall/router that would be blocking NL?
What OS are you running?
What ISP do you use?
Try a traceroute to www.newsleecher.com and see where it stops (Start menu, Run, command. type tracert www.newsleecher.com) |

The newspage is trying to load
| Code:
|
|
http://67.19.207.210/!tools/cas.php?func=redir¶m=loader¶m2=nl21001myemail@domain.com%20(somenumbers)isRefresh=1
|
The ip address 67.19.207.210 resolves to "210.67-19-207.reverse.theplanet.com", but resolving www.newsleecher.com pops up the same ip address.
Yes, I'm behind a firewall/proxy server. Logging shows that the URL is allowed by a certain rule. Since NL is running on that same machine, I can configure it to connect directly (bypassing the firewall/proxy), but that gives the same result. I have also tried to shut down the firewall/proxy services to make sure it really isn't the problem but the page still does not load.
I can't ping 67.19.207.210, but that doesn't mean a thing since firewalls and routers can be (and often are) configured to ignore ICMP packets. Tracert to this address times out on hop 18. Before that I see addresses of verio.net and theplanet.com.
The newsleecher.com website works like a charm, as does any other website.
Thanks.

To answer the rest of your questions, NL is running on Windows Server 2003 standard configured as a domain controller running ISA 2004. ISP is Speedlinq 2048/1024 ADSL.
The modem/router is NATting, the ISA server has 2 network interfaces, and is routing from the internal interface (trusted network 192.168.x.x/24) to the other interface (external untrusted 10.3.16.x) to the router/modem. That interface is the only one connected to the router/modem.
ISA is configured to disallow all by default, and allows access based on source and domain logon credentials.

You're da man!
Normally after I rebuild my server one of the first things I do is remove that shitty security using add/remove software. I guess I got slacky the last time I rebuilt it because that was the problem.
Works like a charm! |
