I had been using 2.0.8, I wanted to test a bug behavior in 2.0.9 but it says my trial period has already expired when I tried to install.

Is this a 1-1-2005 issue? Or, are you counting beta testing against the free trial period?

How can someone base a decision to spend money if only allowed to try a known buggy version instead of the most current version?

afaik b9 is open for public use so you should be able to use it. it might be possible that b9 doesn't reset your trial like most other versions did, so if your b8 trial expired, you can't use b9 either.

the changelog doesn't mention any real significant changes, so b8 should still be a pretty good indication as to how the program works.

I do see where you're coming from atomicjew, but if you look at it from Spirils point of view; if the trials kept getting reset with each new release, you could end up never having to buy NL. The whole point of the trial is to show you what the program is like, which you should have a pretty good of by now, as you have been able to use it for 15 days free already. I expect it is just an issue that has just been over looked however.

In general though, bugs found in one release are usually fixed by the next release, thanks to the hard work that Spiril puts into NL.
