Hi the last days i got many fails on the Super Search feature, i'm not able to find post that are one or 2 days old example searching for 1641 SS gives only 8 results while Usenetjunkie gives more than 150 valid results
Searching for 251541 3 results in Super Search and 71 results in Usenetjunkie.
And lot's of more examples aviable what's wrong with the database? _________________ Happy leeeching,

Yeah there does seem to be something wrong. I can do a normal Server Search and it turns up the desired results. Yet when I do the same search on SS I get none. (and yes I did check all those three mutually exclusive hard-to-choose catagories)
Try "girls8" in a.b.erotica for an example. Nothing on SS, 55 files in Server Search. Or "stis874" in a.b.warez.ibmp-pc.0-day (actually that file is "2,3 days" but thats besides the point
Is SS's feed broken or something ?? (or get a feed from Astra |

| the feed might be broken, or at least the database is updating quite sporadically. it used to be every 20 mins, saturday it was every 3 hours or so, sunday it stopped, between sunday and now there only seems to have been 1 update (tuesday morning or so) |

| i was monitoring a post, sunday only the first few files had been posted, and searches on mondayevening still only found those first files. tuesday morning before i left work i checked again, no change. when i got home from work, it suddenly found all the files, so there must have been an update in between |

I just use the good old Server Search again, always works nicely. Esp if you use the Advanced/Max Headers back field wisely (ftn one day back is about 100.000 headers)

Check the new announcement on the main page of this site:
You might experience some instability problems when using the Super Search function at the moment. Due to the popularity of the function, we have had to begin developing a new Super Search core to take care of all the search requests. The new core is being build specifically for the Super Search function and isn't "bottlenecked" by 3rd party applications (The database server) like the current search core is. The development of the new core is almost done, so it shouldn't take long before we make the switch to the new improved Super Search function! Stay tuned!
Sounds good |

Lets see how it develops...... |
