|
|
Version: 4 Final
Operating System w/ Service Pack Version: XP pack2
Installation Method: Full
Type of Installation: Registered
Number of Servers:2
List your provider(s)1, Be
List of antivirus/firewall software installed: Zone Alarm
Connections per server: 3
Server priority: ?
Bug Description:
The program eats up all available memory (2Gb) while trying to verify a collection of files consisting of 10 rar files and 6 par2 files.
The verification stayed at 0% while the memory got used up as I was watching. I used Process Explorer to track this. I had to close the Newsleecher to release the memory. Stopping the Repair&Extract did not release the memory. Monitor option was disengaged. The fault was repeatable, even after closing the Newsleecher.
No other programs are misbehaving.
Quickpar verified and repaired the collection in 2 seconds and no problem.
Even after the collection was fixed Newsleecher still kept on trying to verify it unsuccessfully and still consuming more and more of the memory.
Only after I cleared that line from RnE it moved on and started behaving normally.
Seeing that the programs gobles up all available memory slowing the machine to a dead stop, the RnE function cannot be left unsupervised which is unacceptable. I have never had such issues with earlier version, which was doing it faster as well.
