| I hate to rehash an old problem, but i am running the latest beta and normally i use newscene as my provider. I never have problems with that. I recently signed up to Giganews for a month because there is a bunch of old stuff that i want to get. I set about 125gig of stuff to download and i left. I am now running into problems where some articles like to get stuck. They do not reset, retry, or anything. No logs are generated. I have to pause that movie and then it will continue with whatever is on the list. If this was a NIC problem why would i never have seen this problem with Newscene. Why only with giga? I will try to requeue the missing files, but not sure how well that would work |

I've started getting this problem today.
I've been using NL 4 final for a while but only started getting the problem today. I've tried both the European and US Giganews servers.
I've tried d/ling two large files. Both are made up of 100MB RAR files, both got stuck during the 59th RAR file. Each file got 5.61GB downloaded.
I have the top Giganews account type, so it shouldn't be limiting me.
If I do a 'leech first' on another file then once the connections time-out (after 60s) they download that file just fine (I've only tried small files) and then get stuck on the big file again.
This has made usenet pretty much unusable for me (I don't do DVDs). Anyone have any idea what's going on? |

Do a search for the following.... When i get to part10, it dies on me. Anything past part 10, whether i queue it up as the entire thread or individual articles, NL will not download it.
EDIT: ARTICLE NAME EDITED OUT - READ FORUM POLICY BEFORE POSTING |

I just queued up this post from Dec 14th and it wasn't able to download. This is because the entries in SuperSearch are corrupted starting with part24.
Here is just one of the article entries from SuperSearch
| Code:
|
|
<segment number="1" bytes="394490">1292340313.96713.1@eu.news.astraweb.com9yYCDVG64nh0lMxbPL22@JBinUp.local</segment>
|
and here it is from downloaded headers from Giganews.
| Code:
|
|
<segment number="1" bytes="393896">1292340313.96713.1@eu.news.astraweb.com</segment>
|
As you can see, the article ID is messed up and has 2 entries in it. I've posted a message to Spiril with more technical details that might help with the SuperSearch corruption issues.
Try getting this post from a NZB index site or download the group headers and you should be able to get these files. _________________ Please be aware of and use the following pages...
